The five things to confirm before you buy any flight board

1. Glass capacity. Ours is 5 oz. The working band for flights is 3–6 oz. Five ounces suits beer tasters, mimosas, cold brew, iced coffee and wine flights at a 3 oz pour. It is oversized for spirits — see the limitations section, because we would rather you know now.

2. Are the glasses dishwasher safe. Yes. Both the KSESTOR Cocktail Flight Glasses and Beer Flight Glasses are dishwasher safe. This matters more than it sounds: most wood flight boards in the trade are hand-wash-only throughout, including the glasses. Acopa's own care copy states that "the heat and chemicals used in dishwashers can damage wood's naturally porous texture." Our board is wiped rather than washed; the glasses go through the machine with everything else.

3. Well sizing. The wells are cut to the included glasses, which measure 2.25 inches wide by 4 inches tall. KSESTOR does not currently publish a separate well diameter. If you intend to run your own glassware, measure the base of your glass against 2.25 inches before ordering — and if it is close, ask us before you commit a case.

4. Replacement glasses. Sold separately at $19.99 per set of four, in both the 5 oz cocktail and 7 oz beer configurations. A broken glass does not retire a board. Breakage is the normal cost of flight service, so it is worth confirming this with any supplier before you standardise on a product.

5. Shipping. Free on orders of $50 or more within the US, shipping in one business day. Freight is where quoted glassware prices tend to move, so it is worth pricing landed rather than listed.

How this compares to the distributor alternatives

Straight answer: we are not the cheapest, and it is not close.

Through WebstaurantStore, Acopa wood flight paddles run $4.08 to $13.54 each in 12-packs, and tasting glasses run $0.57 to $3.46 each. Assembled, a paddle plus four glasses lands somewhere around $7 to $18. Acopa's own three-pack kits — three paddles with twelve glasses — come in around $11.33 per complete station.

Against our $27.99 at the ten-unit tier, that is a real gap and no amount of copy closes it. If unit cost is your only criterion, buy the Acopa.

What you get here instead:

Want to test one first?

Reasonable. Across foodservice, roughly half of operators request a sample before adopting a new product, and among those who tested first, effectively all reported it affected the decision positively. Handling a board tells you more than a spec sheet does — particularly the panel and the glass fit.

Order a single board at $34.99 and put it through a service. If it works, the trade tiers are waiting and nothing needs to be applied for.

Honest limitations

The 5 oz glass is wrong for spirits. Whiskey and bourbon flights pour ¾ to 1½ oz. A 1 oz pour sits under half an inch deep in a four-inch glass — it reads as a spill, not a serve. For a spirits programme you want a 2.5–3 oz tapered tulip, and we do not currently make one.

We do not publish a well diameter. Stated above, repeated here because it is the specification most likely to cause a problem if you are pairing your own glassware.

The board is wiped, not machine-washed. The glasses handle the dish machine; the wood body does not. If your operation routes every item through the machine without exception, raise it before ordering.

We do not offer custom branding. If a logo on the board is the deciding factor, engraving suppliers serve that at comparable prices with a twelve-unit minimum.

We are not NSF listed. NSF does not certify wood as serveware, and some health jurisdictions restrict wood in commercial service. Wood flight boards from several brands transact in foodservice today, but if your jurisdiction is strict, confirm locally before you standardise.
